Thank goodness Betsy was too sleepy to get up and go to my TCC class Wednesday morning.    After class, coming down the staircase I had a really bad fall.   If Betsy had been along, she would have been smushed so flat we would never have been able to fill her with chi. 
My elbows were killing me, but nothing else hurt at that moment.   I was afraid to move for a few minutes though.

The only thing I remember about the fall was stepping to what I thought was a landing on the stairs (I have no depth perception .) and feeling nothing but air beneath my feet.   My next awareness was landing sprawled out in the lobby on my back and my head banging on the hard tile floor.


According to my student who was right behind me, I missed the last two steps down to the landing, fell onto it, bounced off a huge ceramic planter and then basically somersaulted down the last 4 steps to the lobby that were after the landing.   

Amazing nothing was broken!    I am in tremendous muscular pain all over my body and probably will be for several more days, but my chiropractor and I are both amazed I had no serious injuries.    I am convinced that I was so relaxed from my TCC class  that I instinctively focused on the soles of my feet, tumbled softly and with continuity, lead with my t'an Tien, and let the fall do the fall.


Betsy accompanied me to my Chiropractor this morning.   We even felt like going to breakfast at Magnolia on Main after my  chiropractic adjustment.

I have apologized to Betsy about being a lousy host so far, but she reminded me to just let go of that.   We will have plenty of time in a day or two to fill ourselves with chi!

Add two hyphens, they must be there Or our Ho-Ho-Kus would not be rare. Rare indeed, is this little town in northern New Jersey, home of Wendy Statuto, a fellow TCC teacher. The land was first inhabited by the Lenni Lenape Indians, whose name means “original people.”  It wasn’t until 1662 when the first white man came to own property.  Legend has it that the indians offered their friendship to these first settlers inviting them to live with them and helping them build their dwellings.  After hundreds of years, I could feel the Chi that was generated from this town’s very beginning. But arriving here was not without a little excitement, as I found myself surrounded by two collies and a little pup (Mark and Wendy’s new little rescue, Finley).  I thought I might be in trouble

The Tale of Ben and Betsy

The Tale of Ben and Betsy November 27, 2018 I’m sure that you are well versed in the history of this great nation of ours. What you may not know is this... Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross were close friends.  They had both traveled abroad in their youth and been introduced to a powerful and health-promoting practice called “T’ai Chi Chih”. As you can imagine, the founding fathers of our country had many long, bori ng meetings. During a break in one of these meetings, Ben went outside to boost his energy with a few rounds of Joyous Breath. At the same time, Betsy was taking a break from her hard work as a seamstress and was delighted to see someone else practicing the familiar movements. From that day on, Ben and Betsy traveled all over to experience the energy they felt when they practiced TCC. In fact, the term B&B developed from the initials of these companions rooming with friends on their travels and only later came to be known as Bed & Breakfasts. Here
